Free Prostate Cancer Screening and Education Event to be Held
at Northern Westchester Hospital September 20
Da Vinci Surgical System to be Demonstrated
Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH) in Mount Kisco will host a free prostate cancer screening program in its Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center on Saturday, September 20, 2008. Urologists on staff at NWH will provide a free physical exam and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test, and will be available to answer questions. Appointments begin at 8:00 a.m. Pre-registration is required.
This program is available to all men between the ages of 50 and 80. Those without insurance are especially encouraged to take advantage of this free screening. Men who have a family history of prostate cancer and African-American men are at higher risk and encouraged to attend.
NWH has sponsored this event as a service to the community for more than 10 years. In addition to the screening, a demonstration of the da Vinci® Surgical System, used in the treatment of localized prostate cancer, will be conducted.
Da Vinci® Prostatectomy is a minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgical procedure whereby urologists remove the cancerous prostate gland and related structures.
For more information or to register for the free screening, call (800) 260-3080.
