Auxiliary of Northern Westchester Hospital Presents $45,000 to Support NWH
Members of the Auxiliary of Northern Westchester Hospital (NWH), a group of local volunteer women who have served the Hospital and community for the past 50 years, recently presented Hospital administrators with a check for $45,000 to support its Chaplaincy Program and the construction of a pediatric suite in its planned new Emergency Department.
Since 1958, the Auxiliary has raised $3.2 million to support NWH's high quality medical care. Over the years, the group has served the Hospital in a variety of capacities including raising funds through events such as the Founding Families Campaign and serving as an educational liaison between the Hospital and community.
This year's contribution was raised through the Auxiliary's annual Lunch & Learn event, its 50th anniversary celebration, and its popular Holiday Boutique. Over the past five years alone, the group has raised approximately $400,000 for the Hospital's planned new Emergency Department pediatric suite.
"We are very thankful for all the hard work the Auxiliary does on behalf of the Hospital," said NWH Foundation President Hatsy Vallar. "Over the past several years, they have provided vital financial support to our Chaplaincy Program and the planned new Emergency Department pediatric suite."
The Auxiliary is currently focusing on conducting outreach and educational programs including Kindergarten Tours of NWH for seven local elementary schools, offering children philanthropic opportunity through the Special Occasion Club, and showcasing NWH's medical experts speaking about a wide range of health topics during its Lunch & Learn series.
