Northern Westchester Hospital Employee Wins Lions Club Nursing Scholarship
Northern Westchester Hospital recently announced that Mount Kisco resident Johanna Jeyadoss, who has worked in the Hospital's Emergency Department and Outpatient Lab since 2005, has been named the 2009 Lions Club Nursing Scholarship recipient.
This award is sponsored by four local Lions Clubs who offer a two-year scholarship for local students who are pursuing nursing careers. The program is a collaboration between the Bedford, Bedford Hills, Mount Kisco, and Pound Ridge Lions Clubs. The scholarship is open to students from Fox Lane High School, John Jay High School, and John F. Kennedy High School as well as employees of Mount Kisco Medical Group (MKMG) and NWH. Each year, a high school student and an employee from MKMG or NWH is selected.
Jeyadoss impressed the judges with an outstanding essay on why she wants to be a nurse-following in the footsteps of her mother, Navi, who is a registered nurse in NWH's Infusion Center. Her father, Jey, works in the Hospital's Information Technology department.
