Connie's Bakery and General Store is an innovative philanthropic enterprise in Mt. Kisco, NY, featuring old-fashioned bake goods made from the finest ingredients, hand-crafted gifts, and homemade jams, syrups and other gourmet food items. Connie's makes a direct impact on the community by giving 100% of their profits to charities in the Westchester County and throughout the Hudson Valley. At the end of 2006, Connie's partnered with the Northern Westchester Hospital and opened a store in the hospital's main lobby. 

Besides maximizing their profits to support local causes, Connie's has several other unique business missions. Owner Connie Milstein has created a one-year, full-time baking apprenticeship program. At the end of their apprenticeships, Connie's helps their employees use their new skills to move into higher level jobs in the food service industry, and then repeats the process by recruiting a whole new group. Connie's leads by example in paying their employees a living wage, including health benefits. Whenever possible, Connie's makes purchasing decisions for both the bakery and retail store that support small farmers and craftsmen throughout the Hudson Valley and New York State.

Connie's boasts an Executive Pastry Chef with an outstanding background. Simeon Manber attended the CIA, worked with two non-profit organizations dedicated to helping disabled people become more independent, and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde , NY). He has worked under three of Manhattan's all-star chiefs, and participated in the Annual Great American Chief's Tribute to James Beard to benefit Citymeals-on-Wheels and the 18^th Annual Masters of Food & Wine event, which is internationally recognized as one of the greatest collection of chiefs and winemakers in the world.
