Free Hepatitis C Testing Northern Westchester Hospital continues to offer free and convenient testing of hepatitis C for patients who received a letter from the Hospital. Letters were sent to patient homes via overnight mail on Wednesday, July 15, 2009. As of AUGUST 8th: The testing site is located at No appointment necessary. New hours of operation:
If you plan to go, or have already gone, to your doctor's office or another lab for a hepatitis C screening test, we encourage you to contact our Patient Help Line at 914-666-1902. In some cases, outside labs request prescriptions for the test, which we can provide. If travel to our testing site is a true hardship for you, due to physical or transportation constraints, our Patient Help Line can also assist you. Our goal is to reach you and offer our assistance. Our Patient Help Line is staffed by NWH registered professional nurses, available to answer your questions and concerns. Who should be tested for Hepatitis C Patients who received our certified letter should be tested.Only patients who had surgery between October 2007 and February 2008 should be tested.UNLESS YOU RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NWH, the following patients are NOT affected: Women who gave birth at NWH do NOT need to be tested.Patients who were treated in the Emergency Room do NOT need to be tested.Patients who had outpatient procedures do NOT need to be tested.Patients who were treated in other departments of the Hosptial do NOT need to be tested.Patients who had surgery in the Aesthetic Institute do NOT need to be tested.Patients who are known to be positive for hepatitis C do NOT need to be tested.Dedicated Patient Help Line Northern Westchester Hospital has a Patient Help Line 914-666-1902 to answer questions and concerns from patients and their families related to this matter. The Patient Help Line is staffed by registered professional nurses from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
